At the October meeting of the environmental club, students took a nature walk and picked up garbage on school grounds, played an environmental trivia Kahoot, created a poster for the club fair, and designed a club t-shirt. President Mimi Pham said, “I hope all our members have a good experience and learn more about the Earth!”

“I joined because it is a fun experience to learn more about the environment,” freshman Keilani Warn stated. The Environmental Club does activities such as crafts, challenges, contests, garbage cleanups, and more.

Fundraisers, discussions about the environment, and other educational experiences also take place at meetings, “My favorite part of the October meeting was the nature walk because it was educational, and I got to learn about trees.” said Mareena Panjabi.

Each meeting counts toward community service hours. “I love that we get community service hours from this club as I enjoy the club and think it’s very beneficial. The hours gained can be used for college resumes as they are great to have on there,” Fatimah Malik, freshman member of the club, stated.

The environmental club meets about every other Wednesday in room 256 at the main building. Mr. Goodman advises this club. For more information about the environmental club contact Mimi Pham by email at mpham751@obps.org.
