The Armory, the OBHS school store, located around the corner from the cafeteria sells all kinds of supplies and spirit wear.
Anyone who would like to buy school merchandise should go to the left of the cafeteria to the door with the Knight in front of it. Items there range in price from $1.99 to $27.99. “You can find tops, bottoms, keychains, hoodies, and other items in the Armory, as well as new items designed and produced by us, the students,” says Siena Santamaria. You can go to the store to purchase an item or grab an order sheet and hand it to Mrs. Blauvelt in room 330.

Throughout its 15 years, The Armory has not only sold merchandise but also offered holiday cheer. “A fun feature of the store is how we decorate for each holiday. It makes the school livelier and more festive,” said sophomore Ava Accetulli. Decorating The Armory for the holidays boosts its visibility through the crowd, making it a popular stop for students.

In order to join The Armory staff, students must take the Fashion Merchandising course, not to be confused with Fashion Design. “Fashion Design 1,2, and 3 are different from Fashion Merchandising. Design is sketching, designing, and sewing while Merchandising is the business end of fashion design [Buying, selling, and display],” said Patricia Blauvelt, Design teacher and creator of The Armory.
“[The Armory] is important. It supports and shows school spirit. The Armory brings OBHS together,” sophomore Jenna Magrino says.
