On September 22, 430 seniors kicked off their final year of high school by taking a cruise around New York, into Lincoln Harbor.
The seniors got to see a variety of tourist attractions. “We got on the boat and went to Lincoln Harbor in Weehawken,” said Gabrielle Walker. “We saw the city, statue of liberty and Hudson Bay.”
The dinner cruise has become a fall tradition. “This is an annual event for the senior class for the kickoff to senior year. It is typically held every September for the senior class,” said Nicole Czysz, one of the senior class advisors.

Some current seniors have been waiting to go on this trip for a long time. “The dinner cruise was exclusive to seniors, so I’ve wanted to attend this event since I was a freshman,” said Sofia Schiano. “I knew it would be a fun night to hang out, dance, and dine with my class.”

The senior class attendees did not know in advance what the boat would look like or what the set up would be, so some were surprised when they went inside. “The boat was huge and there were more levels than I expected, but it exceeded my expectations,” said Walker.
For dinner, the seniors ate a variety of foods, including mac and cheese, chicken, tacos, rice with beans, string beans, and for dessert they were given cookies and brownies. “The cruise food was really good and set up buffet-style,” said Schiano.
Although the seniors have had to wait to go on this annual trip most would say it was worth the wait. “It was an awesome night unlike anything I’ve ever done. It was a lot of fun, and I would recommend the cruise for future seniors,” said senior Robert Orzol.
