On October 20, staff and hundreds of students dedicated their efforts throughout the day to the Pink Out event. The money raised funds a scholarship that is awarded each year to students whose life has been affected by cancer
Despite poor weather, the school community showed up to support the football team by dressing in pink, packing the stands, dancing, singing, and cheering the team on. “Even with the rain, a lot of people came, and we still had a fun time and got hyped to show our support for Old Bridge and Breast Cancer Awareness,” said senior Julia Mele.

Leading up to the big game, clubs sold items and offered services to raise money for the cause. The Cosmetology program offered face paint, face gems, hair spray, tinsel, and more accessories to raise money. “Pink Out is the best time to go all out in pink and show support and awareness for those who are battling and battled cancer,” said senior Jayda Vargas.

While supplying students with a variety of ways to show school spirit, the cosmetology students raised even more money than they expected. “Raising over $500 made me feel even better that we got to offer this to the students and give back for people in need,” Vargas added.
Coordinator of Student Life Scott Beverly and volunteers from the Student Senate sold pink shirts, necklaces, sunglasses, and boomsticks during lunch periods. “Not only is it a cool sight to have over 1,000 students and faculty dressed in pink, but to be able to donate a large amount of money to our Pink Out Scholarship Fund is absolutely awesome,” said Beverly.

The dance team gave an exciting performance at half time of the game. “Pink out is definitely one of the best games to perform at.” said senior Alexa Saniel. “To me pink out is a fun night to get together with peers for a great cause.”
“The music was great, the crowds were lively, and the effort everyone put in was prominent!” said senior Valeria Vanegas. “Pink out is Old Bridge’s favorite holiday, and it was bittersweet that this was our last one.” This year’s Pink Out marked yet another great year of support from the Old Bridge Community.
