Coming off an 8-10-2 record last season, the ice hockey team looks to finish above .500 this winter.
Although they lost talented starters to graduation, the young team hopes for a strong run. “The goal for this season is to win the GMC’s and make it to states,” expressed senior Shane Albrecht.
Key returning players for the Knights include seniors, Albrecht, Michael Pellicciotta, Patrick Apgar, and Logan Shroeder. “We have a good amount of players returning from last year that will lead the way, and, as the upcoming players follow our lead, everything will fall into place,” said Pellicciotta.
Two-time captain Pellicciotta looks provide leadership on and off the ice. “It’s important to constantly communicate with all players, so everyone is comfortable each game, which allows for improvement every day,” explained Pellicciotta, who finished second in points (40), first in assists (27), and third in goals (13) last year.

Schroeder will try to continue his goalie performance after finishing last year with an 87% save rate. “I want to make the push for a .900 save percent,” said Schroeder.
A powerful lineup of underclassmen, including Nicholas Gallo, Kenneth Doctors, and Ethan Manbodhe, also bring their talents to the varsity team. “I am feeling so hyped about this season,” shared Gallo. “I know the rest of our team and our coaches as well are super excited and ready to get going.”

Sophomore Nicholas Gallo finished third in points last season with a total of 32. “I think you could expect another solid year from me with the help of my teammates,” stated Gallo.
The team opens their season against Howell on the road at 6:45 pm this Friday, December 8 and plays their first home game on December 12 at 3:30 pm at the Municipal Center ice rink.
