On Jan 24, family and friends gathered in the main building auditorium to watch 12 students share their unique talents in the annual Talent Show, presented by the Class of 2025 advisors Liz Todaro and Nicole Mondano.

Juniors Noah Balbuena, Liana Adams, and Yassen Diab hosted the show, welcoming each act with humorous commentary. “I really enjoyed hosting the talent show this year,” Balbuena shared. “Getting to see Old Bridge come out and support all the talented people that performed was great.”

The Dance Team kicked off the night with a special hip-hop performance. “The team got asked to perform at the talent show, and we thought it would be a nice way to get involved with the school community,” said team captain Alexa Saniel.

Melanie Liamero reacts in shock after the hosts announced her as the third-place winner.

Junior Kimberly Tuazon took home first place with her piano performance of “My Heart Will Go On” by Celine Dion from the movie Titanic. “Winning the talent show was very unexpected, but I was so happy I did,” said Tuazon.

Saniyah Smith received second place with her performance of “Grenade” by Bruno Mars, and Melaine Liamero finished third with her rendition of “What Was I Made For?” by Billie Elish from the box office hit Barbie. “I love that song because it relates to me,” shared Liamero.

The show presented a great opportunity for students of all grades with a range of talents to share their skills. Gianna Blamer performed in the past two Talent Shows since the event’s return from COVID. “Performing for my last time as a senior, I watched my friends perform and step out of their shell,” said Blamer, who placed third last year. “It was very heartwarming to see them showing their talent.”

Madison Carroll and Sam Tropea perform “Therapy” from the Musical Tick, Tick…BOOM.

While returning students who performed in previous talent shows got to share more of their skills, some students joined this event for their first time. “I was nervous at first, but once I started performing and getting into it, I just had so much fun,” said senior Rain Derlin.

Faculty judges included Nicole Czysz, Brittany Fuentes, Cheryl Mackey, Jessica Tosonotti, Matthew Donaghue, and Lori Obdyke. Senior Torrilyn Olson expressed, “I really liked the talent show this year, the people who were in it did a great job and you can tell they put their all into each of their performances.”

The event featured 12 acts, including singing, musical theatre, piano playing, and dancing. Tuazon exclaimed, “Even though I won, I believe everyone is a winner because they all had the courage to go on stage and show everyone their talent!”
