The boys and girls golf teams have a new golf course to practice and play on, and they have some key returning players to help them win.
Both teams will look to improve after placing fifth in their divisions last year. “We hope to win our GMCs division this year and try to improve overall as a team,” said senior Sriya Nauduri. “We did split into two GMC divisions this year, so we are hoping to finish first in our new division.”
With the proper focus and dedication, the players believe they can achieve their goals. “We just have to lock in this season,” said senior Joseph Clare. “Work hard, eat good, and fix the form.”
The recent upgrade in their practice and playing facilities at The Rose provides students will new opportunities. “We had to practice at the back fields last year, but this year we are lucky enough to be at The Rose, which is down the street!” said sophomore Emma Wong. “We have more course exposure due to the new golf course opening, and we will take more advantage of the driving range there as well.”

The new course, recently built less than a mile from school, will provide advantages the program has never had before. “We’re playing on a new, beautiful golf course here in Old Bridge, so we’re just really trying to learn the course and give us the home course advantage,” added Wong.
The program features ten seniors between the two teams, which can help the under classmen learn the ropes. “We have more experience with playing at different courses and how different teams are, so we can help prepare underclassmen for what they will experience,” said Nauduri.

“I’m really excited to be back playing Old Bridge Golf. We are ready to get back to work,” said Jason Florencia. The boys have their first game at home today, March 26, and the girls travel to rival East Brunswick on April 2 to start their season.
