The Choir outdid themselves during their performance in the Busch Gardens competition in Virginia. Not only did they participate in their first national competition, but they also won each category they competed in.
The choir prepared hard to compete in their events. “For the past few months, we’ve met after school to practice the songs; a lot of practice is needed to make the harmonies perfect,” shared sophomore Emily Barnhardt.

They competed in multiple categories, including Mixed Choir and Women’s Choir. “We competed against other schools in multiple groups,” shared senior Jessica Grieco. “There’s freshman/sophomore group, recital, and the entire choir.”

The team’s exceptional performance played a key factor in winning. “I think our second piece, ‘The Water is Wide,’ is why we were so successful,” said freshman Julianna LaBarbera. “We sang it the best we ever had at the competition.”
The members of the choir credit their success to their teacher, Carolyn Kimock. “Mrs. Kimock does a lot more than just the music she was a great leader and role model when it came to this,” shared junior Joaquin Rivera.
The choir team got exceptionally close throughout this trip. “My favorite highlight from the trip was the bus ride there and back because it was about 6 hours, so we really bonded before we competed,” said Grieco .

The choir’s impressive performance at their recent competition showed their dedication and talent. Their hard work has clearly paid off, and everyone can expect remarkable things from them in the future.
