On September 30, students from the class of 2025 boarded the Spirit of New York ship for the annual Senior Dinner Cruise. A total of 420 students attended and had a fantastic night alongside their peers as they dined, danced, and sailed through the Hudson River.

Students on the dinner cruise viewed sights such as the Statue of Liberty, George Washington Bridge, and various other architectural masterpieces. “The skyline that was seen from the boat was a perfect backdrop, reminding us of how far we’ve come and the adventures ahead,” shared Oyinkansola Abudu. “It truly was a special night that I’ll always hold close to my heart!”

The cruise served dishes like macaroni and cheese, rotisserie chicken, salad, green beans, rice, and even a taco station. “The food was really good! I enjoyed the macaroni and cookies the most,” said Juliet Matara. Students also enjoyed brownies, cookies, and fruit for dessert.

Lea Balletto, Marissa Powell, Ethan Vista, and Steven LaBarbara enjoy their time on the dance floor.

Seniors danced the night away to songs such as “Last Friday Night” by Katy Perry, “Just Wanna Rock” by Lil Uzi Vert, “FE!N” by Travis Scott, and “Dancing Queen” by ABBA. For many students, dancing perfected their night. “The best part of the dinner cruise was dancing in the circle,” expressed Stephen Davies.

Reviews and advice from friends, family members, and alumni who attended in the past inspired students to attend. “I heard of how fun it was from past students,” Steven LaBarbera added, “They were absolutely right.”

Senior year provides students with plenty of chances to create memories before graduating. “I feel like the dinner cruise was one of the many amazing opportunities that Old Bridge High School has to offer,” said Hayat Aydin.

The dinner cruise gave students a night to make memories with friends and time to shift their focus away from college applications and other stressors. Based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews from the class of 2025, underclassmen should take their advice and attend during their senior years. “I really encourage you to go! It’s a great chance to unwind and meet new friends. I had so much fun, and it was a perfect break from the usual routine,” expressed Abudu. “Even if you feel like you won’t enjoy it, just go!”
