On November 27, during the half-day before Thanksgiving, the administrators hosted an assembly for the senior class. The students watched a concert and competed against each other in games.
The assembly began with a performance by faculty band, Log on a Bench, featuring Scott Beverly, Robert Cotugno, James Oliveri, Stephen Pasqua and Richard Torok. “They played good,” said Matthew Walz.

The seniors then played a Disney-related Kaboom in preparation for the senior class trip in Florida. The first competition the students played in was a rock paper scissors contest.

Students played in a tournament-style event, playing against each other until the last student won. The last student, Daniel Cruz, competed against Dr. Sasso. After Dr. Sasso lost, he flipped the table. “It was really shocking and funny,” said Jenna Rae Mondano, who watched the ordeal from the seats.
Next, selected students stepped on stage to flip bottles in a competition against each other. “I made it to the second round but then I lost,” said Fatimah Malik.
The next event tasked seniors with making paper airplanes and the person with the farthest plane thrown won. Some students found difficulty in their folding abilities. “I ultimately settled on a crumpled ball of paper to throw into the audience,” said Mondano.

Ethan Vista won the contest because his creation flew the farthest. “I was very confident in my paper airplane-making abilities and had no doubt in my mind that my airplane would fly the furthest,” said Vista.
In the last challenge, students placed medical gloves into cups and stacked the cups without their hands. After the students stacked them, they unstacked them. The first person to do it all won. “It was funny seeing some people struggling to move the cups with the glove,” said Emily Korona.

The seniors enjoyed an opportunity to unwind before their break. As they left for dismissal of school. “The band [played] ‘Mr. Brightside’ as we sang along and left the assembly with smiles on our faces,” said Noah Blabuena.
