This fall, the school store moved across the hall to a huge room with much more space for the students’ creativity to shine. The students running the store have updated their concepts of design and creativity.
The schools store used to operate in a smaller room that consisted of a counter and some items behind it. “We’re always looking to improve, but I love the new look of the school store. We have a new display, lights, and shelves that make the store feel fun and modern,” said Adrianna Hui.

Adrian Cline, the Creative Design teacher, took over running the school store, which the sewing teacher had run in the past. “I mainly joined the school store because of the courses [Creative Design]1, CD2, and CD3,” said Jianni Bisnauthsing. “I became more interested in it through developing designs in these classes, culminating in CD3 where the school store is one of our primary focusses for the school year.”

When students spend their money at the school store, it goes for a good cause because the profits go to expanding the store. “The money we receive from the school store we recycle back into the store, and for the school sports store, we put that profit back into the sports,” said Amaya Marshall.
When selecting and creatine the items for the store, the opinions of the student body get taken into consideration. “What I like most about it is the actual products we have and the interactive nature of it,” said Bisnauthsing. “It is heavily influenced by student opinion, making it extremely rewarding to work on.”

“I think our bestselling item is the black sweatpants. They’re inexpensive, practical, and super comfy, especially for the cooler weather nowadays,” said Hui. The school store provides a variety of items, including shirts, sweatpants, hoodies, beanies, and more.
With the new look of the store, added products, and more advanced technology, the store has stepped up.
