In a rebuilding year after graduating nine players from the girls team and three from the boys team, the bowlers finished the season with numerous players setting new and high personal records. The young teams, which featured zero senior girls and only one senior boy, battled and improved throughout the season and made their own highlights.
After a tough loss against East Brunswick earlier in the season, the girls team dominated them on January 16, beating them 4-0. “It was a good accomplishment for this all-new team,” said team leader, Savanah Funk, who led the team with a high set of 450 during the match and finished the season with a high set of 556.
On January 18, Eleni Kyrifides bowled a 226 and won 2nd place for high score during the Woodbridge Classic Tournament. “It was good. I bowled one of my highest games and I received the second-place highest score award,” said Kyrifideswho ended the season with a high set of 467.

On February 11, the boys won the first round of the state championships against South River, 2-0. “It felt amazing for the team with the win, feelings were high, and everyone was happy and excited,” said Micheal Delgatto.
Sophomore Mason Sorrentino placed third at the Joe Romer tournament on February 1. “My highlight moment of my season is getting third place for highest single game in the Joe Romer tournament and getting 3rd highest series in the Woodbridge classic tournament,” said Sorrentino.
On December 13, at a match against Woodbridge, sophomore Micheal Delgatto, beat his high score for the second time this season, bringing his high score from 234 to 247. “Throughout this season I had to face my own emotions about how I think I did that frame, and put it all behind me,” said Delgatto who ended the season with a high set of 685.

“I prepared by practicing a lot, getting my mind into the right mood, and just being happy and having fun while bowling puts up really good scores,” said Sorrentino, who completed the season with a high series of 732.
The boys won three of their four victories late in the season, and underclassmen on both teams gained experiences. Together, they persevered and plan to conquer the next season.
