Both golf teams enter the season coming off record-breaking performances and will strive to build on their success in their new situations.
“My expectations for this season would be for us to continue to build on the great season we had last year and for me to play well and contribute to the team,” stated junior Emma Wong. The girls team went 7-5 last year, the program’s best season in recent history.
With the girls moving to the competitive Red Division this year, they have new expectations. “The competition is going to be fiercer and more challenging,” said Tyla Lovetere.
The team earned a place in the Red Division through their success last season. “I think the difference is we are going into the season with confidence after winning the white division last year,” said Wong. “It was the first time in school history and something we are very proud of.”
The athletes hope to have an even better season after the work they have put in. “I hope that we do well given that we are in the Red Division this year. I think that we all improved so I have higher expectations than last year,” stated sophomore Tyla Lovetere.

To prepare for the season, the teams took a trip to Florida. “I have been practicing and working on my swing during the off season to prepare for matches” stated Lovetere
With their weekend away, they have balanced practicing constantly and having fun. “We are so lucky to spend a week in Florida playing and practicing on different courses,” stated Wong. “We are working on our individual games and team building at the same time. It has been such a great experience!”
The boys had their best season since 2019 last year, so they have high expectations for this season. “Expectations for the season are higher than they have been the last two years I’ve played,” said Daniel Schlager. “We have a really, really solid squad this year.”

The team has prepared in Florida to become stronger. “Personally, I have done as much as I physically can, studying the game, day in day out,” said Schlager
Both teams will leave it all on the course in an effort to keep the program moving in the right direction. “Everyone on the team has grown and gotten significantly better,” stated Schlager. “The chemistry between us now is becoming quite deep to where we want each other to succeed as much as solo performance.”
The boys will start their season at home tomorrow, March 25, at The Rose at 4pm agaisnt Woodbridge, and the girls will tee-off for the first time against East Brunswick at home on April 1.
