The experienced, two-time GMC Tournament-winning girls lacrosse team will return to spring ready to secure another undefeated season in the Red Division.
The players plan to play stronger this season, proving to the GMC that they remain an intimidating force. “I expect for us to come out the same way we always do as the hardworking, gritty team,” said Jada Kmiec.
The team will see a large senior and junior influence among the players. “We definitely lost a bunch of seniors that completed our team as a whole, which makes it time for the underclassmen to step up and fill their roles this season,” said Laila Vaughan.

The team earned a reputation as the top team in the GMC from their wins in the county championships during the last two seasons. “I think this season will differ from last years because there are more talented underclassmen who will be on varsity,” said Cabrera.
In the off-season, 12 players played on a club team to maintain their skills and to prepare for the season. “We have already been working together and learning how to work as a team, as well as how to communicate with each other on the field, which is an important skill to have in lacrosse,” said Jayleigh Guzman.

The players look forward to taking on top teams like Scotch Plains-Fanwood, Westfield, and Ocean Township. “We have a very tough schedule, but I think it is still doable,” said Reagan Connolly.
“This season is going to be filled with tons of improvement, and I can’t wait to see what comes out of it!” said Vaughan about the team’s hopes for the season. The team will face an early season test on April 3 when they take on a tough out-of-division opponent in Robbinsville.
On April 1, the lacrosse team will face North Brunswick at home at 4:00 PM to open the season.
