The famous music and arts festival, Coachella, leaves people stunned every year. With fabulous outfits, celebrities, and music, the festival keeps a grip on viewers from everywhere.

Coachella is known for its huge performances with a variety of artists from different genres. This year, Lady Gaga, Green Day, Post Malone, and Travis Scott headlined the festival. “I really enjoyed the lineup this year, with the diversity and genres of all of the performers,” said Camile Johnson.

Artists rising in popularity, like Charli XCX, brought new energy to the festival. “Charli XCX’s performance was my favorite primarily because of her energy. She knew what she was doing the second she stepped foot on that stage,” said Max Towell.

She also shocked the crowd by bringing out surprise guests on stage. “The special guests she brought out, like Lorde and Billie Eilish, were super cool to see,” said Johnson.

Through social media, people can view Coachella without actually attending the festival. “During Coachella fashion is spread a lot more than the music on social media. A lot of the time on social media you will see people posting `Get ready with me for Coachella,’” said Ella Palustre.

Over the years, Coachella has faced a debate on what the festival is truly about. “In recent years, I feel Coachella has become more about influencers and celebrities,” said Johnson. “Since there’s a lot of hype now around who was invited by certain brands to be there, I think that’s taken away from the main focus of the festival, which is the music,” said Johnson.

Though Coachella faces several inconsistencies, every year the event still manages to keep people hooked. “What I wish was consistent throughout Coachella was the type of visuals other artists had last year. Last year’s artists had better decorations and their set up was way nicer,” said Palustre.
