On October 3, students and staff came together to attend the biggest event of the season, Pink Out. Various clubs and classes held fundraisers to help support the cause and the scholarship fund.
The community showed up in their favorite pink attire to show support for Breast Cancer Awareness. “My favorite part of Pink Out is seeing everyone in the stands dressed in pink because in most events, you wouldn’t see many people dressed up for it but with Pink Out, everyone goes all out and dresses in that color,” said Jolie Vasfailo.

Cosmetology students gathered in the courtyard during lunches to do their classmates’ hair and face paint and sell items to accessorize. “Seniors created posters all around school to inform students and teachers that juniors and seniors would be in the courtyard during lunches doing face paint, braiding, hair spray and tinsel,” said Riley Cleary.

In the student life office, students and staff purchased pink t-shirts, beads, bandanas, sunglasses, and more to help support the scholarship fund. “The money raised through the event is given to a few students who have been directly affected by breast cancer in the form of scholarships on our Senior Awards Night,” said Student Activities Coordinator Scott Beverly.
The yearly half-time show, done by the marching band and the dance team, remains a loved aspect of the event. “The half time was my favorite part because I saw many cool dances and was able to eat a lot of good food,” said Jason Mansilla.

The dance team and marching band performed an upbeat and lively routine to bring more spirit to the game. “We put a lot of effort into this dance, so performing felt like all our hard work paid off,” said Caleigh Espinosa from the dance team.
The football team dominated Morristown, 24-0, securing a successful ending to the event. “It felt good to win our home Pink Out against our longtime rivals,” said Brody Nugent.
Though the biggest event of the year came to an end, the memories established and fundraising won’t go unrecognized. “Pink Out is such a great platform to raise money and educate a large, diverse audience,” said Espinosa. “It brings our community together and makes us even stronger as one.”
