Seniors and juniors danced the night away at Homecoming on October 9. The event had the main cafeteria filled with students celebrating their return to school through music, dance, and their best attire.

Themed decorations, such as hay bales and pumpkins, exemplified the Fall theme. “The fall decorations gave off a cozy atmosphere,” said senior Tajnim Ahammed.

Many attendees made everlasting memories with their friends and peers. “My biggest motivation for attending Homecoming was the fact that it is something I could only do in high school,’ said junior Sandro Quinones. “I mainly did it for the memories as well as being able to see all of my friends all dressed up nice and having fun.”

The upbeat music captivated attendees and energized the atmosphere. “We all had a lot of fun, and the music was great; overall amazing energy to be around,” said junior Kate Hazel.

“My favorite part of homecoming was getting to dance to all of the good music with my friends all night!” shared senior Scarlett O’Brien. “I really enjoyed the music, and it felt good to take a break from the stress of senior year!” The DJ’s playlist featured many songs that created a fun and vibrant atmosphere among the students, including “Mr. Brightside” by The Killers and “Dancing Queen” by ABBA.

Additional amenities, such as the Photo booth and the food, contributed to the memorable evening. “Some of my favorite moments were dancing with my friends, taking funny pictures in the Photo Booth, and all of the amazing food,” said Quinones.

Danielle Flores and Oskar Lapinski received the crowns for Homecoming Queen and King. “It felt unreal. Hearing my name get called was so special, but hearing my partner’s name get called was even better,” said Lapinski. “Seeing her so happy made me happier than hearing my name get called.”

Overall, the night left students satisfied and excited for the year ahead. “I love that students get the chance to step outside of their comfort zone for events like this. It really helps everyone get to know and understand each other a lot more,” expressed Quinones. “I am so extremely excited for what’s to come this year!”
