Over 300 seniors left for the annual senior trip to Disney World in Orlando on March 7. Those who attended enjoyed four days of fun exploring the parks while enjoying the nice weather with their friends to celebrate 12 years of hard work in school.

Anticipated by the seniors every year, the trip managed to give the nearing graduates something to look forward to and enjoy. “I attended Disney because I have never been before, and it would be a fun experience to go with friends,” said Japji Singh.

“The Disney trip was always one of the senior events I looked forward to since freshman year,” shared Dylanie Canzano. The trip consistently receives strong recommendations by those who attend.

The event required months of planning, including multiple Disney trip preparation meetings that also helped excite attendees for the event. “The meetings were really informative and answered every question I had about packing, travel, itinerary, etc.,” said Jordan Feldman.

The students spent their first day enchanted by the Magic Kingdom Park. “They decorated it in such a way that you actually felt like you were in a completely different world,” said Esha Mehta.

The following day, Hollywood Studios supplied the Star Wars and Toy Story experiences, among others. “I loved both Star Wars rides,” said Krystian Kotlewski.

Animal Kingdom received a large flow of Old Bridge students on the second day for the annual “OB Takeover,”, a tradition of picking one ride for OB attendees to “seize” over the course of one hour. “My favorite part about Animal Kingdom was taking over [Expedition] Everest,” said Michael Firetto.

“I tried to [attend the takeover] the first time, but the ride shut down before we could ride,” explained Feldman. To compensate for the broken ride, students pivoted to Avatar Flight of Passage.

Students successfully rode Avatar until the park closed. “[The ride] was very immersive,” said Kotlewski.

In addition to Disney World, attendees spent their third trip day engrossing themselves in the worlds of Harry Potter, Dr. Seuss, Jurassic Park, the Simpsons, and more at Universal Studios. “Taking the Hogwarts Express to Platform 9 3/4 was a major highlight for me because middle school me would have been freaking out!” shared Feldman.

The attendees finished their trip at Epcot, where they explored the world and the galaxy. “My friends and I absolutely loved the Guardians of the Galaxy ride,” said Safija Shatku. “We got the song ‘Everybody Wants to Rule the World’ and it made the night magical.”

Attendees also received daily challenges from the chaperones via social media. Students sent pictures to the official Disney Trip Instagram to extend their curfew to stay in the parks and enjoy the trip as much as possible. “It made my trip a little more exciting each time I had to complete a random fun task in a park,” said Feldman. “I met so many nice people through the challenges, like families with matching T-shirts, and cast members from NJ.”

The trip effectively fostered celebration with friends as graduation inches closer. “[It is] a lifetime experience going to Disney with all your friends,” said Firetto.
