After losing a group of talented varsity starters to graduation, the girls look to rebuild with new players stepping up to fill key roles. Coming off a season where the team finished 16-10 and lost in the Quarterfinal round of the GMCs to Colonia, the young team hopes to show they can compete.
Senior Abby Jazmin, a four-year varsity player, prepares to lead her team to victory. Jazmin scored the second most points on the team last season with 294. “It feels good to be looked up as the leader, so I can’t wait to get the season going,” said Jazmin.
Other key returning players for the Knights include Haylee Blackman, Danielle Boateng, and Bridget Lutz. “I’m super excited to pick up from where we left off with a great group of girls I love playing with,” stated Blackman.
Blackman finished last season with 90 points, the second highest total amongst returning players. Looking to improve as a junior, Haylee has prepared to replace the graduated seniors. “As a junior this year, I’m ready to step up and help the team,” said Blackman.

Powerhouse sophomore Danielle Boateng hopes to help the team anyway she can. “I want to be able to contribute my assets to help the team get wins this season,” expressed Boateng, who had 59 rebounds last winter.
The team will aim to improve throughout the season and get ready for a strong run come tournament-time. “The goal for the season is for us to play together as a team, and for us to constantly improve,” Blackman explained. “GMC’s and States are a big focus too.”

Come out to support the Lady Knights as they take on East Brunswick on December 14 at 5:30 for their home opener.
