The senior prom took place on May 17 at the Ocean Place Resort and Spa in Long Branch. The scenic location of the venue provided a beautiful backdrop for an unforgettable evening.

The event took off with the usual “coketail” hour starting at 6pm, giving students plenty of time to take pictures and socialize before the sun set. “It was super nice, and I loved that you could take pictures with the beach in the background,” said senior Bella Aresta.

Students spent months organizing preparations and making plans for the memorable night. “To prepare for prom, I got my dress and accessories, made appointments to get my hair and nails done, booked a party bus and a house in the Poconos for the weekend, and coordinated the day with my friends and date,” expressed Sophia Paula.

Seniors enjoyed dancing the night away on the beach and spending time with friends. “My favorite part about prom was being able to get together with all my friends and see everybody,” said Joshua Grochowski.

Prom marks one of the last senior events of the year. “You only get a select amount chances to make core memories of high school,” added Seamus Tierney. “There’s no better time and place than attending prom with your partner and/or your dearest friends.”

Students crowned Eva Roman and Lucas Thomas as this year’s Prom King and Queen. “My favorite part of prom obviously has to be when they announced prom King and Queen,” said Roman. “After we slow-danced, and they transitioned the song into “Turn Down for What’, everyone ran into the middle of the dance floor and started jumping on the beat drop. It was so much fun to be in the middle dancing with everyone.”

Prom festivities ended at 10pm, but students didn’t let that diminish from prom weekend fun. “Me and my friends drove and spent the weekend in a cabin in the Poconos,” said Lucas Thomas.

Overall, students enjoyed spending time with friends and making a memorable evening. “It’s a huge part of senior year, and it’s good to see everybody together again before we all leave for college,” stated Grochowski.
