On December 10 at 7pm, the OBHS Choir donned their holiday attire and formal wear for their annual Winter Concert. Family and friends celebrated this holiday season together by listening to some jolly performances.
Choir students and club members perfected each song carefully, ensuring a prepared performance ready for the stage. “Mrs. Kimmock was proud of us,” said freshman James Kircher. “She said it was probably one of the best concerts she’s had, and I’m proud I got to be a part of it.”

This concert presented a variety of songs, ranging from “Oh Holy Night” to “The Christmas Song.” “My favorite song to sing was ‘Get Happy/Happy Days Are Here Again,’ which is a mash up of two songs,” stated Emily Barnhardt. “I got to sing it with my best friend, which was super meaningful, and it was a song we always wanted to sing.”

A significant part of the concert covered solo, duets, and trio performances, which displayed the talented voices of the individual singers. “My favorite part about being able to sing a couple of solos was that it felt like all my hard work was being recognized and was validated in a way,” explained junior Angel Chiaravallo.
A long-running Winter Concert tradition included inviting OBHS alumni onto the stage to sing the ending chorus together with the choir. “It’s very rare that we can share the stage together again, and the concert gives us the opportunity every year to have that moment,” said senior Olivia Medina.

The Winter Choir Concert highlights the talents of new students passionate about belting it out. “The choir has grown every year with our numbers on the rise and above 50 plus singers with the classes and club choir students,” shared choir teacher Carolyn Kimock. “The opportunities are endless for OBHS vocalists in the choir!”
