On May 29, seniors gathered at the Ocean Place Resort and Spa for the Senior Prom. A night filled with dancing, food, photo ops, and a spinning video camera gave seniors an unforgettable night before graduation.
The night started with a cocktail hour that featured Shirley Temples and hors d’oeuvres. “Cocktail hour gave us an opportunity to take pictures and eat before the dancing started,” said Olivia Van Deursen.
The venue, located right on the beach, gave students the opportunity to take great photos with a beautiful backdrop. “My favorite part of prom was taking pictures with the people I love and seeing everyone dressed nicely,” said Jolie Vasfailo.

As the dancing began in the ballroom, students ate a buffet style dinner. “I enjoyed the chicken and the variety of sweets available to everyone,’ said Safija Shatku.
Island Entertainment provided DJ and emcee services that kept the dance floor packed with over 700 students all night. “I thought they did an amazing job with the music,” said Charles Reynoso. “Everyone seemed to like what was playing.”
With the night coming to a close, Class of 2026 advisors Brittany Fuentes and John Post announced prom King and Queen. The winners, Emma Wong and Michael Santangelo, gladly accepted their crowns and sashes on stage. “When I heard my name, I stood there with my hands over my face for 15 seconds before my girlfriend told me I had to go up to get my crown,” said Michael Santangelo.

The pair won by around 60 votes “I felt incredibly grateful and happy, and it made the night even more special knowing my classmates voted for Michael and I,” said Emma Wong. “It was a moment I’ll never forget.”
The memories made this wonderful night will stay in students’ minds forever. “Everyone was having a great time, and it was nice to be all together and enjoy one of the last events as a grade,” said Wong.
