On September 14, students dressed to impress to attend the senior dinner cruise along the New York City skyline. The dinner cruise sets the tone for the many senior events approaching throughout the year.
Seniors arrived via bus to the Liberty Landing Marina in Jersey City for the cruise. “It was nice to chat with friends as we waited to get to the cruise,” said Nicholas Velasco.
After stepping onto the ship, students gathered around the various decks of the boat to take pictures to capture memories with their friends. “The highlight of the event was going under all the bridges and everyone being all together taking photos,” said Samantha Ciaccia.
Students adored the close-up views of New York City. “My favorite part of the dinner cruise had to be seeing the pretty views like the NYC skyline and being around friends,” said Michaela Lupica.
As the sky dimmed, attendees enjoyed a variety of food and desserts. “I really enjoyed the tacos,” said Velasco. “They were delicious.”
After the buffet, the captain announced that the cruise would approach the Statue of Liberty. The DJ played “Empire State of Mind” by JAY-Z featuring Alicia Keys to set the mood. “My favorite part of the dinner cruise was going near the Statue of Liberty because it was an awesome experience and a great place to take pictures with friends,” said Devyn Morris.
As the night came to a close, students gathered on the dance floor to enjoy popular songs from artists such as Justin Bieber and Katy Perry before the cruise approached its dock. “I loved it when everyone started to crowd the dance floor because it was fun seeing everyone dance together,” said Ibrahim Haqqi.
The dinner cruise set off the positive vibes as senior year began for the Class of 2027. “The atmosphere was very lively with people dancing, laughing together, and taking pictures,” said Morris.
