On Wednesday April 22, the Hindu Students Council held the first Festival of Color event in the side lot of the main building. The club showcased their unique and colorful culture through food, music, and color play.
The HSC took this opportunity to share a fun aspect of their religion. “We wanted to bring this celebration to OBHS and showcase a part of our religion to those who weren’t familiar with it before!” said Mira Trivedi, President of HSC.

The main activity of throwing colorful powder at each other brought many attendees together. “Throwing the color was lots of fun!” said Naina Chhabra, a board member of HSC. “I got to laugh with my friends, and it was nice to meet new people.”

The event also featured a henna table for all to enjoy. “My favorite part of the event was the Henna stall,” said Sanaya Dadia. “The designs were so pretty!”
The members of HSC and some attendees pitched in to help with the preparation process. “Some of the people attending this event volunteered to help set up for it, including me,” said Bruhati Kachapuram. “We carried all the items to the location and set up the tables with food, colors and shirts.”
All who attended experienced a festive environment and thrilling time. “It was really fun, and everyone I went with did also really enjoy it,” said Sarihelys Valentin Soto.
HSC hopes to establish this as an annual event after this year’s success. “For our first event we had a pretty big crowd, and I think it will only get bigger next year and onwards!” said Chhabra.
