The choir hosted the annual Spring Concert on April 29 in the main Auditorium. Students of all vocal ranges performed a variety of songs, including solos, duets, and group pieces.
This year, the concert consisted of songs from different Musical Theater productions, such as but not limited to The Notebook, In the Heights, Wicked, Hairspray, Hamilton, Little Shop of Horrors, and Grease. “I thought it was such a cool idea, and you got a little bit from everything!” said Derek Kraese, who sang “Schyler Sisters” from Hamilton in a quartet.

The preparation process entailed long hours and strict organization to ensure an amazing show. “We had to coordinate with each other, and different groups stayed together on different days for the songs they were in,” said Naina Chhabra. “We also worked very hard in our class periods and [had] to meet up with the club choir members to make sure we all had the songs down.”

Elective and club choir members came together to put on the show. “This show required immense cooperation,” said Nayalize Tejada, who sang a solo on “Breathe” from In the Heights. “We would frequently hold after school rehearsals in order to bring the whole ensemble together.”
Standout performances included “For Good” from Wicked and “The Phantom of the Opera.” “The Phantom of the Opera was a big number,” said Chhabra. That is a very hard song to dsing, especially with the high notes.”

Seniors performed in their final school choir concert. “One of my favorite songs, but also a huge standout performance, was ‘Skid Row’ from Little Shop of Horrors performed by Cam Burniston, Olivia Medina, Emma Pepe, and Emily Barnhardt,” said Tejada. “The seniors did an incredible job.”
“I think the [‘Skid Row’] harmonies were really nice,” shared Barnhardt. The four seniors who participated in that song plan to major or minor in Musical Theater or a related field in college.

Many students had the opportunity to sing solo for the first time. “It felt really good singing my first solo,” said Richard Rella. “I never sang a solo before onstage in choir, and I feel confident and comfortable when singing onstage.”
The show will remain a moment to remember for all the choir members. “Some personal highlights from the concert were getting to perform with my friends and singing songs that we love,” said Tejada.
