The girls lacrosse team finished the season with a 15-6 record and went undefeated in the GMC Red Division, finishing 8-0. The girls won the GMC Tournament for the fourth year in a row.
Winning the GMC Championship for the fourth straight year marks an impressive accomplishment that reflects the team’s hard work and consistency. “Winning the GMCs not only showed our work during practice but also our work in the off season,” said senior Payton Kmiec, who recorded 25 ground balls this season.

On May 19, the team went against Monroe for the final round of the GMCs tournament, successfully winning 16-3. “It feels amazing to win against Monroe, especially in the GMC finals,” said senior Addison Albrecht, who finished the season with 84 draw controls. “We played a hard-fought game and didn’t let up once. We played till the final buzzer.”

On May 28, the team defeated Toms River North 15-5 in the first round of the NJSIAA State Tournament, a result that reflects the team’s effort throughout the season. “Winning against Toms River North proved our hard work paid off during the season,” said Kmiec.
Throughout the season, the team relied on communication to coordinate play and handle challenges during games. “Lacrosse is such a fast-paced game, and being able to talk to each other on the field helps us stay organized, make smarter decisions, and support one another,” said freshman Sabrina Dubinski, who contributed 24 assists.

Facing strong opponents, including teams from all over the state, such as Allentown, Ocean, and Trinity Hall, throughout the season pushed the team to improve. “We overcame a tougher schedule and strong opponents, which helped us grow and improve as a team,” said sophomore Summer Brueggemann, who scored 16 goals.
Players built stronger trust and improved teamwork throughout the season. “As the season went on, we learned how to trust each other more, work together better on both offense and defense, and stay positive through challenges,” said Dubinski. “Everyone bought into their role, and that helped us become a stronger team overall.”

Time spent together during practices and games deepened relationships among players and strengthened the team’s chemistry. “Our team’s chemistry only grew from the beginning of the season. We were a close group to start the season and working together every day continued to grow that,” said Albrecht.
