Students and staff members gathered on October 2 to support the Pink Out event. Numerous clubs and classes hosted fundraisers, such as shirts, bandanas, and other accessories.
In total, the effort raised approximately $3000 to donate to the family of a senior student impacted by breast cancer. “The fundraiser was great, and it showed that we should be able to grow this fundraiser to new heights in the future,” said Student Activities Coordinator Scott Beverly.

This event brings many people together to support both the families of victims and survivors. “It is a way to honor those who are still fighting breast cancer,” said freshman Ashley Canonico.

Cosmetology students offered a variety of ways to prepare for Pink Out. “Cosmetology supported Pink Out by doing the ‘Touch-ups and Touchdowns’ fund raiser in the courtyard where we delivered services like hair braiding, hair tinsel, and face paint!” said senior Alexandra Popyk.
In honor of breast cancer awareness, the football team wore pink themed gear and won 14-12 in a close game against Sayreville. “We worked super hard in practice because we knew this week the game meant a little more,” said junior wide receiver Amari Alsbrook, who caught a touchdown pass in the game.
The dance team twirled their way through the rain and put on a halftime show where they represented their pink with their clothing, hair, and makeup. “We wore matching pink shirts and used pink poms and, overall, just tried to advertise the pink for breast cancer awareness,” said senior Ashlyne Agneta.

The marching band paraded onto the field and played “Fireball” by Pitbull along with other tunes, bringing musical energy to the game. “The band supported Pink Out by playing music at the game and keeping the vibes up, so we could contribute towards Pink Out and show recognition for others,” said junior Liam Chung.
Many students enjoyed spending time at the Pink Out game and getting to support others making this a fun, memorable night. “I loved the energy of the students in the bleachers alongside seeing all the pink around and getting to hang out with my friends creating wonderful memories,” said junior Angelina Molina.
