On October 22, the girls volleyball team defeated Mother Seton 2-0 to win the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament Finals. The girls continued their 14-game winning streak with a dominant performance against the last team to beat them.

Even in victory, the girls always look to improve. “We had to work through our blocking,” said senior Olivia Grubb, who had one of the team’s three blocks. “It’s not bad, but it’s not where we want it to be sometimes.”

As many seniors approached their last few games, the win against Mother Seton felt greater than just a plaque. “It feels fantastic,” said Penson, a varsity contributor for three years. “This game was really important to me because it was my last year.”

The seniors on the team finished their careers with victories in every GMC Tournament Final possible. “It’s so bittersweet thinking about that,” said Markle. “This is my last GMC Final at home, but I couldn’t be more grateful for what Old Bridge gave back to me. This town was great to me.”
