The Medical Club hosted the annual Mental Health Fair on May 19 in the courtyard. The event had a variety of booths and activities to help people improve their mental health.

After attending the event during lunch periods, students across the main building still sported their mental health day “merch” for the rest of the day. “There was such a large turnout, and all the stands were so organized, so it went very well!” said Medical Club Vice President Tanvi Mareddy.

Although the Medical Club organized the event, many other groups, like the Pride Club, Psychology Club, and the Hope Squad, volunteered and contributed. “There were a lot of volunteers and teachers helping out, so the process went well,” said Mareddy.

Some of the many booths and activities included therapy dogs, drunk goggles, and different types of mental health resources. “I think talking to a school counselor or trusted person and using stress-management techniques like mindfulness or journaling could really help improve mental health,” said junior Riley Cleary.

The Hope Squad helped by running tables scattered throughout the fair where students painted rocks, getting fun iced drinks and decorated a banner, so everyone could write inspiring messages. “I thought it was really cool how many different stations there were and how they made a big cloth out of all the positive messages people wrote,” said sophomore Matthew McCauley.

The Pride and Psychology Clubs provided tables that showed healthy ways to express oneself, including an interactive station where students painted mini canvases. “I also enjoyed how interactive and welcoming the Mental Health Fair was. It was interesting to participate in activities, learn new coping skills, and see people openly talking about mental health in a positive and supportive way,” said Cleary.
