The boys golf team secured low scores and numerous victories despite a challenging 8-7 season, gaining experience and growing more consistent as the year progressed.
Players spent many hours practicing and preparing for tournaments. They focused on improving their scores, skills, and strategies “The team prepared for important matches by hitting the range beforehand, getting some work in on the putting green, and chipping some balls onto the green as well,” said Nicholas Gallo

Throughout the season, seniors played an important leadership role, setting the tone for the team in both competition and practice “The seniors helped lead the team this year by showing good sportsmanship and leading the team during games and practices, both with their skill on the course and their communication off the course to bring the team together as one,” said Gallo

Lower scores and more consistent plays showed the hard work the players put in during practices and matches. “Golf is more of an individual sport. You always play to beat your own score,” said Matthew Bentle. To see us all come together and make this match about the team rather than the individual made the win that much better.”
Before each match, players focused on their mindset and established a specific routine for handling the tournament pressure. “The team prepared for important matches by hitting the range beforehand, getting some work in on the putting green, and chipping some balls onto the green as well,” said Gall. “Some guys like to have the air pods in, and others just like to chat with the team.”

The team defeated Colonia on their home course in an overtime match; the win came down to the fifth-golfer tiebreaker, where Chase Lynch secured the win. “The win gave us a lot of momentum going into the postseason GMC tournament,” said Bentley. “Ending the season on a high note gave us a boost of encouragement to win our conference.”
Even during the most challenging moments of the season, the team kept a positive environment, building favorite memories during long road trips “[The highlights of the season were] away matches and bus rides with my teammates,” said Nicholas Vella.
